SxS Refrigerator Secondary Water Inlet Valve

The SxS Refrigerator Secondary Water Inlet Valve allows water to enter the refrigerator’s water dispenser and ice maker. If one of the solenoids went bad, you may need to replace this part. Remove the back cardboard panel from the refrigerator to access this part and remove the copper tubing that supplies water to the valve. Place a towel down to catch any water. The package includes a new water valve, instructions, 1/4" tubing and a plastic 1/4" coupler. The new part has push-to-lock fittings, and the old part had screw in fittings. In order to install the new part, cut the valve tubing with a razor at a 90 degree angle so you can push and lock it into the new valve. Note: This is not the primary water inlet valve. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the refrigerator’s water supply.
