This Dryer Gas Valve Ignition Solenoid Kit is a newer style that fits all dryers with a two-coil gas valve. If your dryer does not heat or only heats intermittently, replacing this part may alleviate these issues. When replacing this part, consider using Whirlpool's high-quality and easy-to-install Gas Valve Ignition Solenoid Kit. To test the coil functionality, observe the burner and check if the igniter glows for a while and then shuts off without the gas igniting. When removing the larger coil, make sure not to lose the spacer inside it, as the new coil does not include this spacer. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, such as a multi-screwdriver and a putty knife, some disassembly of the dryer, and novice repair experience. Before installing this part, remember to unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety.
