Description

This SxS Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat is a safety device that clips onto the evaporator in the freezer. The defrost thermostat turns off the defrost heater in case it gets too warm in the freezer section. If your refrigerator does not defrost, both the thermostat and heater can be tested to determine which part is at fault. Note that a multimeter (item 964740) can be used to test for continuity and determine if the thermostat is defective and requires replacement. Consider replacing your defective part with this high-quality and easy-to-install defrost thermostat. This replacement part includes 6" leads. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi-screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, and a wire-splicing tool. It also involves some disassembly of the refrigerator and requires novice repair experience. Before installing this part, remember to unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety.
