Description

The Dryer Door Switch Assembly senses whether the door of your dryer is properly closed. If the door handle is broken or your dryer does not start as expected, replacing the door switch may alleviate these issues. Note that this part also replaces older 2-terminal switches. To access the part, remove the screws from the lint screen if necessary and use a putty knife to release the tabs holding the top panel of the dryer. The door switch is located in the upper corner of the dryer, next to the switch actuator. The new switch may have an extra wire that isn't used. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a Phillips-Head screwdriver and putty knife, some disassembly of the appliance, and novice repair experience. Before installing this high-quality replacement part, remember to unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Helpful Tip: Use a multimeter to test the door switch for continuity before beginning this repair.
