Description

The Stackable Washer Lid Switch Assembly detects if the washer lid is open or closed and prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. Sometimes, the body of the switch cracks from slamming the washer lid over time, or the internal switch fails and is no longer able to tell the washer the lid is closed. If the lid switch is broken or if your washer won't spin but will still agitate, replacing the lid switch may alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi-screwdriver, some disassembly of the appliance, and novice repair experience. Before installing this high-quality and durable replacement part, remember to unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Also, make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10135699) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
