The Top Load Washer Lid Switch Assembly ensures that the washer door is closed while the washer is spinning. If the lid switch is broken, the washer will not spin. If the washer won't spin but still agitates, the lid switch may be defective. Sometimes, the body of the switch cracks from slamming the washer lid over time, or the internal switch fails and can no longer signal that the washer lid is closed.
