Features

Whirlpool Genuine OEM Parts and Accessories are designed specifically for your appliance, meet tested engineering standards, and are crafted to ensure the quality of your appliance.

Description

The Gas Range Spark Ignition Switch Assembly includes the igniter switch and complete wire harness that supplies gas to light the surface burners on the cooktop. You may need this replacement part if the element itself shorted out, or if the igniter of your range glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame – this indicates that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. The igniter must glow white hot to properly light the burner; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning properly. Replacing this assembly will require basic hand tools, disassembly of the gas range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure to turn the gas valve off before the repair.
