This Top Load Washer Rotor Position Sensor communicates the position of the tub's rotor to the control board during the washing cycle. If the appliance's motor isn’t working properly to spin the wash tub or if your washer displays an error message, replacing the rotor position sensor may alleviate these issues. To access the part, tilt the washer back and let it rest on a supportive surface, then tape the lid down. You'll need to remove the rotor and rotor stator at the bottom of the machine. The sensor is attached to the top of the stator.
