Description

This Top Load Washer Motor Drive Assembly includes the motor and the motor shield. This 1/2 horsepower drive motor has two shafts - one shaft drives the drain pump, and the other shaft drives the transmission. The motor drives your washer to spin and agitate effectively during the washing cycle. If your washer no longer spins or agitates, the motor may be worn out or damaged and replacing it may alleviate these issues. To access the part, you'll first need to remove the drive belt by tilting the machine back (rest it on something secure or have a friend assist). Remove the drive belt at the bottom of the washer by rotate the transmission pulley counter clockwise and pulling out on the edge of the belt. Lastly, you will disassemble the rest of the washer including the front panel. To ensure safety, remember to unplug the appliance or turn off the house circuit breaker for the appliance, and shut off the hot and cold water supplies prior to installing this replacement part.
