Description

This Gas Range Igniter ignites the gas for the oven burner. It's wired in series with the safety gas valve for the oven. The safety gas valve won't open unless it detects that the igniter is hot enough to light the burner gas. If your range won't turn on, there's little to no heat when baking, or the igniter glows but won't light, replacing the igniter may alleviate these issues. When installing the part, make sure not to touch the new carbide electrode, as oil from your fingers may damage the part. Installing this part will require advanced mechanical training, specialized tools, complicated disassembly of the oven, and prior repair experience. We strongly recommend that you hire a qualified technician to safely install this part. Complex testing and appliance calibration may also be required.
