This Ceramic Gas Oven Flat Style Igniter Kit replaces any flat oven igniter where the ceramic is at least 5" long. If the element itself is shorted out, or if the oven igniter glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame, replacing this part may alleviate these issues. The igniter must glow white-hot to correctly light the oven; if it glows red or orange, it is not functioning as it should. Note that you'll need to reuse the metal shield from the old igniter, and this part does not replace round igniters or igniters with blue ceramic. Be sure to handle the grey coil with care when installing. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi-screwdriver, some disassembly of the range, and novice repair experience. Before installing this high-quality replacement part, remember to unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Also, make sure to shut off the gas to the range.
