Features

Whirlpool Genuine OEM Parts and Accessories are designed specifically for your appliance, meet tested engineering standards, and are crafted to ensure the quality of your appliance.

Description

This Gas Oven Vertical Igniter Kit is also referred to as a glow bar. You may need this part if the element itself shorted out or if the igniter of your oven glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame; this may indicate that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. The igniter must glow white-hot to properly light the oven; if it glows red or orange, replacing it may alleviate these issues. To access the part, pull the oven door off its hinges to remove it, and remove the racks from the oven. Then remove the screws holding the bottom panel of the oven in. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a 1/4" nut driver and a 5/16" nut driver. It involves some disassembly of the appliance and requires novice repair experience. Before installing this high-quality and easy-to-install replacement part, remember to unplug the oven or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Also, turn off the gas supply that's connected to your oven.
