The Top Freezer Refrigerator Start Device Relay with Overload is mounted to the side of the compressor on the back of the refrigerator and causes the compressor to start when refrigeration is needed. The overload provides protection for the compressor motor by preventing excessive temperature use.If your refrigerator is not cold, or you hear humming or clicking noises coming from the back of the appliance, the start device relay may need to be replaced. Note that this kit features an updated design that may differ from the existing assembly.
