Description

The Top Load Washer Balance Spring keeps the weight of the wash tub balanced. If the end of the spring rusts and your tub sits off balance, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. To access this part, you'll first need to remove the control panel of the washer. Usually held in place by two screws, some washer models have trim covers that need to be removed before gaining access to the screws. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi-screwdriver, some disassembly of the appliance, and novice repair experience. Before installing this part, remember to unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Also, make sure to turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10135699) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
