This Top Load Washer Motor Drive Assembly includes the motor and the motor shield. This 1/4 horsepower drive motor has two shafts - one shaft drives the drain pump, and the other shaft drives the transmission. The motor causes your washer to spin and agitate properly during the washing cycle. This part is designed to be used with select washer brands, including Whirlpool®, Kenmore®, Maytag® and Amanal®; check to see if your model number is compatible. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies.
