This Top Load Washer Basket Drive Block connects the inner washer basket to the drive shaft. If the splines of the drive block are damaged and the inner basket isn't being driven, you may need to replace this part. To access the part, open the washer lid and remove the cap from the basket using a small flathead screwdriver. Then, loosen the bolt with a 7/16" ratchet and remove the washplate from the tub to gain access to the hub nut assembly. Clean the assembly and lubricate it with penetrating oil to aid in removal. This easy-to-install kit includes an instruction sheet, (2) wire harness holders, (6) screws, and (1) drive block assembly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, such as a multi-screwdriver and a 7/16" socket, along with some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience.
