Description

This Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat is a high-quality safety device that clips onto the evaporator inside the freezer. The defrost thermostat turns off the defrost heater in case it becomes too warm in the freezer section. To access the part, you'll need to remove all shelving, bins, rails, and mounting clips from the inside of your freezer to access the back panel. Remove the back panel by taking out the 6 Phillips screws. Next, remove the light bulb cover and lift out the back panel. Replacing the part will require basic hand tools, such as a multi-screwdriver and a wire splicing tool, as well as some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. Before installing this part, remember to unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Recommended Item: Wire Splicing Tool 8-1/4". This stripper specializes in stripping and cutting wire. It is designed with a lean nose for pulling and looping wire and is equipped with precision-ground cutters.
