Description

The Dryer Thermal Fuse shuts off the burner in a gas dryer or the motor in an electric dryer when the appliance overheats. The dryer may not start at all or may run but not produce any heat if the fuse is damaged. Replacing it may alleviate these issues. Note that the thermal fuse cannot be reset. Fuses often blow due to a clogged dryer vent, thus make sure to clean out this vent before installing the replacement part. The fuse is located on the blower housing in the rear of the dryer behind a small access panel. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi screwdriver and pliers, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience. To ensure safety, remember to unplug the range, shut off the gas valve if applicable, and turn off house circuit breaker for the appliance prior to installing this replacement part.
